Empowered by AI technologies, the new SIM registration system can verify identity intelligently. Its key feature is the Liveness Detection with level 2, the highest international standard certified by iBeta, incorporating with real-time document and biometric fraud detection at every step of SIM registration including static images and liveness capture, checking image quality and performing high-precision biometric comparisons, advanced identity verification with over 99% accuracy as well as cross-checking registration documents and data with reference of the Department of Provincial Administration’s database. The new SIM registration system features real-time advanced identity verification powered by AI, enhancing security and accuracy at every step of the registration process. Key features include:

  1. Photo Quality Assessment: national ID card and liveness movement
  2. Analyzes environmental conditions like lighting and potential facial obstructions
  3. Advanced Liveness Detection: Certified by iBeta at Level 2 (the highest international standard), this AI system can detect spoofing attempts, including still images, video replays, deepfakes, and 2D and 3D masks.
  4. Verify identity with AI by comparing the real-time facial photo with the database, with an accuracy of over 99%.
  5. Document Authenticity Verification: AI checks the ID document for reflections, clarity, and signs of tampering—such as edits, forgeries, photocopies, or use of fake documents.
  6. Data Cross-Check with Government Database: The user’s information is real-time verified against records from the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Customers purchasing True or dtac SIM cards through online channels can now conveniently complete SIM registration and identity verification with advanced AI system via the True App. This system will be fully rolled out across all SIM registration channels in July 2025.
