Mitihoon – Banpu NEXT, a leading Net Zero Solutions provider in the Asia-Pacific region, and DHL Supply Chain, the global leader in contract logistics, have formed a strategic partnership to support a more sustainable logistics and industry ecosystem in Thailand. The partnership delivers end-to-end commercial electric vehicle (EV) fleet and smart energy solutions while integrating both companies’ expertise to enhance customers’ operational efficiency and decarbonization across Thailand’s commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors. Additionally, this collaboration drives both companies’ shared Net Zero goals and missions.
The agreement builds upon an established relationship, as DHL Supply Chain continues to establish itself along its aspiration to be the Green Logistics of Choice. As part of this effort, the company has already adopted Banpu NEXT’s charging stations at six strategic locations – Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Sawan, Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Chonburi. These high-power charging stations offer fast charging that reduces downtime, spacious areas for large commercial vehicles, an advanced reservation system, and strategic placement along major highways to support long-haul transportation for all industries. Building on this successful implementation, DHL Supply Chain Thailand and Banpu NEXT will expand their collaboration, with an initial focus on EV fleet solutions to meet the rising demand for more sustainable transportation.
The initial phase of the partnership includes:
- Provision of Banpu NEXT’s charging stations, including development and operation of charging stations at DHL’s hubs in Thailand, such as warehouses and distribution centers.
- Exploration of AI route optimization integrated with EV charging and fleet management to improve DHL’s fleet efficiency.
- Exploration of the possibility of providing leasing services and fleet management to optimize DHL’s electric trucks and transportation fleet.
In subsequent phases, the partnership will explore opportunities for utilizing smart energy solutions, including solar and energy storage systems, as well as energy management systems tailored to DHL’s and its customers’ operational needs.
Mr. Smittipon Srethapramote, Chief Executive Officer of Banpu NEXT Co., Ltd., said, “This partnership represents a significant milestone in providing comprehensive Net Zero solutions to the logistics sector and demonstrating how integrated energy and logistics expertise creates tangible value. Our EV fleet solutions encompass charging stations, leasing, and AI-powered fleet management, designed to enhance efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With the government’s current corporate tax incentives* offering deductions for locally produced commercial EVs and imported ones until the end of 2025, this is an opportune time for logistics companies to transition their fleets. Banpu NEXT will strengthen DHL’s capabilities through our solutions, creating a comprehensive ecosystem that supports their logistics decarbonization and the lower-emission operations of industries in Thailand. This move also aligns with our vision to shape a sustainable future by empowering businesses to achieve their Net Zero goals through practical, efficient, and innovative solutions.”
Mr. Steve Walker, Chief Executive Officer of DHL Supply Chain Thailand Cluster, added, “As part of our aspiration to be the Green Logistics of Choice, DHL Supply Chain is committed to providing efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation services while working toward our global target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Partnering with Banpu NEXT on EV fleet and smart energy solutions will accelerate our fleet electrification, enhance efficiency, and enable us to maintain service excellence. This integration brings real benefits, from faster deliveries and smarter routes to lower energy costs and stronger supply chain performance, while supporting our customers in reaching their environmental goals.”
Looking ahead, both companies have established ambitious growth targets for 2030, aligned with the increasing demand for commercial electric vehicles. Banpu NEXT aims to increase its charging station network from the current nine stations with 21 chargers to 50 stations with over 120 chargers covering highway routes along high-traffic corridors nationwide. Since the first half of 2025, the current network has generated more than 1.5 million kWh of cumulative electricity sales, with sales expected to reach over 100 million kWh. The company also plans to expand its other solutions to more customers. DHL Supply Chain Thailand is making significant investments to expand its electric vehicle fleet to expand its customer service capabilities. This is in line with DHL Group’s targets to electrify more than 66% of its last-mile deliveries and increase the share of sustainable fuels in road, ocean, and air to 30% by 2030.
Beyond this initial agreement, both companies are exploring additional long-term collaborative opportunities that could significantly underscore their Net Zero commitments and impact Thailand’s industries, contributing to the country’s broader sustainability goals and economic development.
