Mitihoon – Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., together with Uniwise Offshore Co., Ltd. and Marsun Public Company Limited, held a naming ceremony for a new crew transport vessel Uniwise Commander. The vessel incorporates advanced technology designed to enhance the safety and efficiency of personnel transportation supporting Chevron’s offshore production facilities in the Gulf of Thailand.
The ceremony featured Mr. Chatit Huayhongtong, President of Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., who served as President of the Ceremony, and Ms. Tassanee Hongskrailers, Vice President, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production, Ltd., as the Vessel Sponsor. Distinguished attendees included Mr. Nikom Sedtalug, Expert Petroleum Engineer, Department of Mineral Fuels, Ministry of Energy; General Siphan Bhanavavatana, Director-General of Defence Industry and Energy Centre; Rear Admiral Koakiat Boonpog, Submarine Squadron Commander, Royal Thai Fleet; Rear Admiral Surasak Cherdphad, Director of Sattahip Port Authority; Rear Admiral Marudech Boonnit, Deputy Director of First Regional Maritime Enforcement Command Center; Mr. Darren Ang, Board of Directors, Uniwise Offshore Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Patrawin Chongvisal, Chief Executive Officer, Marsun Public Company Limited., along with executives and representatives from partner companies and government agencies. The ceremony took place at Chuk Samet Port, Sattahip Port Authority, Chon Buri province.
The Uniwise Commander is a 35-meter trimaran vessel developed to replace conventional crew boat transportation currently in operation. Jointly designed by Chevron, Uniwise, WIND Naval Architects, and Marsun, the vessel is expected to reduce travel time by up to 30 percent, while providing improved stability and enhanced safety. The vessel represents the first application of trimaran technology in Thailand’s offshore petroleum operations.

Uniwise Commander has met applicable safety standards and obtained the neccessary approvals from relevant authorities. The vessel is scheduled to commence operations in late July 2026.
