Mitihoon – KResearch announces Thai economic outlook for second half of 2026 and government tax adjustment measures on domestic auto production

Ms. Nattaporn Triratanasirikul (thrid from left), together with senior executives of KASIKORN RESEARCH CENTER, held a press briefing on the Thai economic outlook for the second half of 2026 and government tax adjustment measures on domestic auto production. KResearch forecasts Thailand’s 2026 GDP growth at 2.0 percent, slowing from the first half of the year. The “Thais Help Thais Plus” program is expected to provide some support for consumption in the third quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, the Thai economy continues to face risks from the protracted conflict in the Middle East, uncertainty surrounding US trade measures, and the El Niño phenomenon, which could put upward pressure on inflation in the fourth quarter of 2026. Average inflation is projected at 1.8 percent for 2026, while the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is likely to keep the policy interest rate unchanged at 1.0 percent for the foreseeable future. The briefing was recently held at KASIKORNBANK, Phahon Yothin Building.
