Mitihoon – As Thailand adjusts to longer lifespans, financial literacy is becoming increasingly important to how people prepare for later life. Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) joined the “Every Age Matters: Images and Innovation for a Better Shared Longevity Future” event, held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in conjunction during the week of the International Day of Older Persons. The event brought together the Foundation for Older Persons’ Development, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Department of Older Persons, and other partners to promote recognition of the value and potential of people at every stage of life.
Representing KTC, Mr. Pornwit Prasert, Lead Sales Training Unit, led a Financial Edutainment session as part of the mini-talk “Age Smart, Live Smart.” A Kahoot! game themed “Worth It or Want It?” used familiar spending situations—from promotional purchases and impulse buying to distinguishing between needs and wants—to encourage participants to consider how everyday decisions can balance quality of life today with financial security in the future.
KTC believes financial literacy is a lifelong skill rather than one limited to a person’s working years. As people live longer, financial needs and priorities continue to evolve, making the ability to manage resources and plan ahead increasingly important. Financial discipline is not simply about spending less, but about making thoughtful choices and allocating resources in line with personal priorities and long-term goals.
Through its participation, KTC aims to make financial knowledge more accessible and practical for people across generations, supporting the broader “Every Age Matters” goal of a society where people can approach longer lives with greater financial confidence, independence, and purpose.
