Mitihoon – Thai Credit Bank reports the new quarterly record for net profit of 1,239 million THB in the third quarter of 2026, an increase of 22% YoY, resulting in the net profit for the first nine months of 3,393 million THB.
Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited (CREDIT) announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2026 with the cumulative net profit of 3,392.9 million THB, an increase of 19.4% YoY, whereas the net profit for the third quarter was 1,239.0 million THB, an increase of 22.2% YoY. Additionally, the Bank’s earnings per share (EPS) stood at 2.75 THB per share for the first nine months and 1.01 THB per share for the third quarter, reflecting the Bank’s efficient growth potential and solid financial position.
The main driver was a continued increase in total loan outstanding with the growth of 13.8% YoY to 202,102.8 million THB at the end of the third quarter of 2026. The Bank’s loan portfolio growth was primarily because of the growth in Micro SME (MSME) Loans which grew strongly by 14.6% YoY, led by the successful new product launches and the establishment of dedicated MSME business centers that effectively addressed the liquidity needs of the business operators. Home Equity Loans grew by 10.7% YoY, while personal loans significantly increased by 30.1% YoY. Furthermore, interest income increased by 1,337.2 million THB, or 9.9% YoY due primarily to core loan growth. This core income was supplemented by the Financial Institutions Development Fund (FIDF)’s higher compensation related to relief measures, specifically the “You Fight, We Help” initiative and assistance programs for debtors affected by flooding in the southern region. In addition, interest expenses for the third quarter of 2026 declined by 2.3% from the same period of the previous year due to the repayment of borrowings to the IFC during the second quarter of 2026.
The overall Net Interest Margin (NIM) for the first nine months of 2026 declined to 7.3%, down from 7.7% from the same period of the previous year. However, the quarterly NIM has shown consistent recovery from its lowest point in the first quarter of 2026, reaching 7.6% in the third quarter of 2026. This recovery is primarily driven by lower cost of funds and Thai Credit Bank’s strategic shift in loan product development, which balances returns with careful risk management, including the “SME Kla Chuay” loan for entrepreneurs who own vacant land or land with existing structures; the “SME Kla Su” loan, which incorporates risk-based pricing; and the “Micro Max” product, which offers expanded credit limits to wholesale and retail merchants nationwide.
In terms of asset quality, the Bank continued to manage its portfolio effectively. The gross NPLs ratio decreased to 4.0% from 4.2% in the third quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, the NPL coverage ratio improved from 148.2% at the end of the second quarter of 2026 to 156.0%. This reflects the prudent provisioning approach designed to strengthen the Bank’s defenses against future economic uncertainties, aligning with its long-term goal of stable and sustainable business operations.
Mr. Roy Agustinus Gunara, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited (CREDIT), said, “Amid economic challenges, Thai Credit Bank continues to drive its business forward in 2026 with caution and strict adherence to financial discipline. The Bank is targeting double-digit loan growth while keeping the NPL ratio below 4.5%. This strategy aims to foster sustainable growth by enhancing our digital platforms, ensuring that customers can access financial services conveniently, rapidly, and inclusively. Furthermore, we are also implementing a flexible credit assessment approach that evaluates cash flow alongside collateral to provide liquidity to businesses with potential, thereby contributing to the stable growth of the grassroots economy”.
In the third quarter of 2026, Thai Credit Bank also received several international recognition awards for both performance and innovation. The Bank was named one of the world’s 500 best-performing banks in 2026 (Forbes 2026 World’s Top Performing Banks) and Fitch Ratings affirmed the Bank’s national long-term and short-term ratings at “A(tha)/F1(tha)” with a “Stable Outlook”. These recognitions underscored the Bank’s expertise in niche markets, its leadership in Micro SME lending, effective risk management and strong capital base. In addition, the Bank received The Sauciest Brand for Better Planet award at the Techsauce Awards 2026, reflecting its leadership in financial innovation and technology and its commitment to creating opportunities for everyone, particularly small-scale customers, to access formal financial services fairly and equitably.
Mr. Roy added, “Amid challenges affecting the business sector, Thai Credit Bank remains committed to standing alongside business entrepreneurs as the financial partner that continuously supports their potential. We do this by helping them to close financing gaps, providing liquidity to businesses with potential and delivering lending services to small business entrepreneurs, helping them overcome constraints and build resilience in the business sector. This is an important foundation for driving the grassroots economy towards stable and sustainable growth, helping them to adapt, compete and grow stronger amidst an increasingly competitive Thai economic landscape.”
