Mitihoon – CIMB THAI Bank extended a warm welcome to YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (2nd from right), on the occasion of CIMB THAI co-hosting the ‘Roundtable Meeting with Captains of Industry in Thailand’ in collaboration with MATRADE Bangkok, the Trade Office under the Embassy of Malaysia.
The event brought together key industrial leaders from Thailand to exchange views on investment opportunities, foster business relationships, and explore new avenues of economic cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia, while also strengthening regional collaboration across ASEAN.
Joining the event were CIMB Group and CIMB THAI senior executives, including Novan Amiruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Group (2nd from left), Wut Thantitiraporn, President and CEO of CIMB THAI Bank (left), and Paul Wong Chee Kin, Advisor to President and CEO of CIMB THAI Bank (right). This gathering underscores CIMB’s role as a regional connector across ASEAN’s business landscape, reaffirming its commitment to fostering cross-border private sector collaboration and enabling long-term sustainable economic growth in the region.
In addition, MATRADE Bangkok played a pivotal role as a co-host of the Roundtable Meeting, demonstrating its continued commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties between Malaysia and Thailand. This initiative aligns with the broader goals set under the Joint Trade Committee (JTC) between the two countries in July 2024, which aims to elevate bilateral trade to USD30 billion by 2027. MATRADE Bangkok’s contribution was instrumental in bringing together key industry stakeholders from both nations to promote economic collaboration and create new avenues for cross-border partnerships.
