BANGKOK, THAILAND, June 18, 2025 – GreenYellow (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a global investor and operator in solar energy production (Solar PPA) and energy efficiency, has joined forces with Thai Airways Public Company Limited, Thailand’s national airline. This collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to invest in, install, operate, and maintain a comprehensive solar power generation system, including both rooftop and carport installations, at Thai Airways’ Head Office. Under the 20-year agreement, the system will have a total installed capacity of 999.7 kilowatt-peak (kWp) and is expected to generate 1,359 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 589 tons per year. This marks a significant step, underscoring Thai Airways’ commitment to driving environmentally friendly and sustainable operations.

This solar rooftop and carport project aligns with Thai Airways’ sustainability management policy, which emphasizes conducting business under the Circular Economy principle to create sustainable value (Value Creation). The company prioritizes transparency, good governance, and responsibility toward society and the environment. Key objectives include minimizing environmental impact, promoting the efficient use of resources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting the transition to clean energy. Additionally, Thai Airways is committed to enhancing the quality of life for employees, communities, and all stakeholders while adhering to strict governance principles to ensure long-term transparency and sustainability.

This partnership with GreenYellow is therefore a tangible step towards achieving this vision. This solar rooftop and solar carport project at our Head Office will serve as a model for significantly enhancing the organization’s energy efficiency. The clean energy produced will be utilized to power all operations at the Head Office buildings, while tangibly reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 589 tons per year. This aligns with the Net Zero goals of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and our policy to create a sustainable future. This collaboration not only directly benefits Thai Airways but also serves as a crucial driving force to inspire other businesses to adopt renewable energy for a better world.”

Mr. Frank Glück, Chief Executive Officer of GreenYellow Thailand and Asia, commented on this collaboration, “Our partnership with Thai Airways, the national airline and an industry leader, represents a significant milestone for GreenYellow in expanding our role into the aviation sector, one of the key industries rapidly accelerating towards sustainability.
