MITIHOON – True Corporation in collaboration with the Thai military and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) confirms the activation of mobile base stations at Central Phu Makua and Upper Phu Makua, which are now operational. The deployed network delivers 5G, 4G, and 3G services to support communications for government agencies and military forces operating in the Phu Makua area. Previously, this location had no mobile signal coverage, seriously limiting communication for government operations. True Corporation accelerated the rollout following government requests to improve connectivity for security missions while strictly complying with NBTC mobile tower control measures.

Phu Makua is a strategic area where the Thai military conducts missions to protect national authority and maintain security. True’s mobile network expansion delivers 5G, 4G, and 3G capabilities that support communication links between operational units, real-time situation reporting, image and video data transmission, and ongoing base station monitoring to assist government officers and the Thai military.

Mr. Chakkrit Urairat, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, True Corporation Plc., said “We have provided full support to the Thai military in maintaining border security. After coordinating with the military and the NBTC regarding no mobile signal coverage at Phu Makua, which limited government agency communications, True’s team conducted joint area surveys with government agencies and worked with the Provincial Electricity Authority to install mobile signal equipment on electrical poles in the Phu Makua area, covering both central and upper summit zones. Government agencies and the Thai military can now communicate effectively via mobile devices using 5G, 4G, and 3G services, with coverage restricted exclusively to areas where Thai military forces are stationed. At the same time, we have suspended mobile signals in border areas in line with strict measures agreed upon with the government and the NBTC to prevent True’s signals from extending outside the country and to reduce risks from unauthorized signal usage, thereby ensuring public safety.”

Mr. Prathet Tankuranun, Chief Technology and Information Security Officer of True Corporation Plc., said “We have expanded mobile network coverage to support government agencies and military operations at Phu Makua by installing new base stations using the 700 MHz and 900 MHz bands. These stations deliver 5G, 4G, and 3G services with coverage specifically designated for areas where officers are stationed, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.”

The base station installation at Phu Makua represents ongoing cooperation to expand mobile coverage following requests from the government and the NBTC. Previously, True Corporation provided urgent signal enhancement by adjusting transmission directions from base stations at Pha Mo I Daeng toward Phu Makua. That operation used the 700 MHz band, which has proven highly effective for long-distance signal propagation, delivering 5G and 4G services, while reinforcement with the 2100 MHz band enabled 4G and 3G coverage across the high-altitude terrain of Phu Makua.

At the same time, for towers near the Thai-Cambodia border, True Corporation has deployed its AI-CODC (Cell Outage Detection & Compensation) system for base station management. This self-healing network uses artificial intelligence for real-time monitoring and management, automatically adjusting signals from nearby base stations to compensate for coverage gaps when sites encounter issues. The system ensures continuous service while reducing the need to send personnel into high-risk areas, maintaining both network availability and service quality in the region.
