Mitihoon – True Corporation, led by its executive and a team of network engineers, urgently inspected mobile and broadband services following the road collapse on Samsen Road near Vajira Hospital. The company has deployed three Cell-on-Wheels (COW) mobile base stations to enhance 5G/4G coverage, supporting emergency operations for local residents and assisting government agencies responding to the situation. At the same time, True has intensified monitoring of the True Online broadband network and implemented customer care measures. As an initial step, the company is providing 10GB of free mobile data for three days to True Online customers in the affected area, ensuring continuous communication and internet access.
Mr. Jirachai Kunakorn, Deputy Chief Technology Officer at True Corporation Plc., said, “Following the road collapse, we have activated our emergency preparedness plan by immediately deploying three Cell-on-Wheels units to the site. We have applied lessons learned from previous incidents, including the earthquake building collapse incident, to strengthen our response plan and ensure uninterrupted communication. By deploying COW units to strengthen 5G/4G coverage, we aim to enhance communication capacity and support government agencies and emergency teams that have been urgently mobilized in large numbers.”
The road collapse near Vajira Hospital on Samsen Road created a sinkhole several tens of meters wide and deep, affecting hospital patients, local residents, and commuters in the area. Fallen electricity poles also damaged communication cables, raising concerns about potential disruptions to home internet services. In response, as an initial step, True Corporation has introduced relief measures, offering 10GB of free mobile data for three days to True Online customers in the area, to maintain seamless connectivity.
In addition, True Corporation has increased 24-hour monitoring of both mobile and broadband networks in surrounding areas to ensure uninterrupted services for the public, while reaffirming its commitment to supporting government agencies and other organizations in managing the road collapse emergency near Vajira Hospital.
