Mitihoon – Krungthai Card Public Company Limited (KTC) is partnering with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) to capture rising outbound demand among Thai travelers in the final quarter of 2025. The move comes as spending by Thai visitors in Hong Kong has grown by more than 10 percent year on year, driven by renewed interest in dining and urban experiences.
The partnership promotes the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival 2025, which will run from October 23–26 at the Central Harbourfront under the theme “Remix. Best of All Worlds.” More than 300 booths will showcase Michelin-recommended restaurants and street-food favorites, with extended hours to midnight for the first time. KTC is offering a limited travel package starting from THB 11,999 for 50 cardmembers.
Thai travelers keep Hong Kong high on their list
According to HKTB, Hong Kong welcomed over 33 million visitors from January to August 2025, up 12 percent from a year earlier. Among them were 359,000 Thai tourists—an increase of 4.6 percent—making Thailand the second-largest source market in Southeast Asia after the Philippines.
Dining and lifestyle lead spending growth
Ms. Varitta Phatanarajta, Head of Credit Card Marketing Division at KTC, said Hong Kong remains the second-most visited destination for KTC cardmembers after Japan, and ranks third in foreign spending after Japan and South Korea.
“Between January and August 2025, average spending per cardmember in Hong Kong reached THB 13,000, with an average transaction of THB 3,500,” she said. “We saw a 26 percent rise in dining transactions and a 16 percent increase in active spenders, while fashion and jewelry remained strong categories.”
Festival highlights and KTC offers
This year’s festival features the BEA Grand Wine Pavilion with premium Bordeaux labels, a 10-course Tasting Room experience by five renowned chefs, and Towngas Gourmet Avenue bringing together 13 Michelin stars and 7 Black Pearl Diamonds. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to midnight against the Victoria Harbour skyline.
