Mitihoon – GPSC announced the success in the implementation of its strategies to expand its clean energy businesses through its affiliated companies, accomplishing the EPC projects on over 107 MW. The company has just delivered the EPC projects to Toyota Motor Thailand, with the total production capacity of over 21 MW. Not only that, the company has set a growth target of 125 MW per year, covering the projects to be implemented by both affiliated and non-affiliated companies, with an aim to promote the clean energy policies in consistence with the country’s Power Development Plan (PDP), and meanwhile focusing on the Direct PPA in order to encourage the use of clean energy in industrial production. The company has also established targets to enhance energy efficiency and accelerate decarbonization with great determination to achieve carbon neutrality.
Mrs. Sirobon Boontaworn, Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Subsidiary Management of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovative power flagship of PTT Group, revealed that Combined Heat and Power Producing Company Limited (CHPP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GPSC, has successfully delivered the two EPC renewable energy projects, with the total capacity of 21 MW, to Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited. The objective of these EPC projects is to provide services specifically to industrial customers; thereby, one was implemented at Toyota Ban Pho Plant in Chachoengsao Province (18-MW solar farm system), and the other at Toyota Samrong Plant in Samut Prakan Province (3.77-MW solar rooftop system). It is expected that the development of these comprehensive renewable energy projects can fulfill the increasing demand of business sector for clean energy, which is in line with GPSC’s strategies to expand its renewable energy business into the industrial sector while aiming to achieve carbon neutrality.
Both aforementioned EPC projects provide the integrated services ranging from design, procurement for necessary equipment, system installation, to end-to-end system testing; whereby the experts and engineers of CHPP shall implement the systems and conduct the safety checks based on the international quality and safety standards. This is all to boost competitiveness of Thai industries, promote the transition to the use of clean energy in an efficient manner, and achieve the target of decarbonization and then carbon neutrality by making use of modern technologies to improve the operations in manufacturing sector.
“The delivery of EPC renewable energy projects this time, a collaboration between CHPP and Toyota Motor Thailand, is regarded not merely as the implementation of renewable energy projects, but also as a cooperation model between the energy sector and the automotive industry, which can help Toyota Motor Thailand reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and decrease carbon dioxide emissions by thousands of tons per year. In addition, this success can further support the organization’s goal of achieving net zero emissions, which is consistent with PTT Group’s decarbonization approaches and Thailand’s target of Net Zero Emissions by 2050,” said Mrs. Sirobon.
As a clean-energy partner of GPSC driven by innovations for sustainability, CHPP is trying to expand its customer base outside the PTT Group with an intention to promote the industrial sector’s access to clean energy technologies and meanwhile enhance the competitiveness of the country. All of these are aligning with the company’s targets designated to promote the energy transition, especially the application of highly efficient and environmentally friendly technologies in the industrial sector of Thailand.
