Mitihoon – Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited reinforced its strategy to promote knowledge and understanding on cyber-risk awareness through a special lecture titled “Fake News Warfare & Know How to Avoid Being Deceived”. The event aimed to impart knowledge and build a defense mechanism for Suan Dusit University students. This was conducted in both onsite and online formats on 24 and 27 November 2025, with over 1,000 students attending and learning.

The lecture was organized as part of a general education course, aiming to enhance the first and second year students’ communication and critical-thinking skills. It focused on building an understanding on the mechanisms behind fake news and disinformation arising from online threats embedded in new digital media and persuasive communication in the digital age. This aligns with Thai Credit Bank’s proactive policy to strengthen cyber-threat literacy among all segments of the public so they can better protect themselves from online fraudsters.

The Bank also shared in-depth knowledge about “fake news”, covering key types, tactics and rapidly evolving scam techniques driven by new technologies. The session further addressed how to recognize AI-generated content in various forms such as images, audio and video, and provided practical tools for verifying information in everyday digital life. In addition, content from the Bank’s online series “Roo Wai Mai Don Lok (Know This, Don’t Get Fooled)” was further developed into learning materials for students, helping them to build stronger skills to guard against online threats and cope with misinformation and technology-enabled fraud more confidently and effectively.

The activity drew strong interest from participants, with students actively engaging in discussions, sharing experiences and demonstrating greater awareness of online risks. This outcome underscores the success of Thai Credit Bank’s Cyber Awareness strategy, which is geared toward fostering a more informed and digitally secure society in a sustainable way.
