Mitihoon – Jakarta, Indonesia: 2 December 2025 — SCG reaffirmed its role as a key development partner to Indonesia through the ESG Symposium 2025 Indonesia under the theme “Decarbonizing for Our Sustainable Tomorrow.” The company also signed the “PPPP – Circular Future Collaboration and Commitment: Declaration for Greener Tomorrow” with government agencies, private-sector partners, and community representatives (Public–Private–People Partnerships: PPPP) to accelerate the circular economy, reduce carbon emissions, and support the national vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
Amid increasing environmental pressures driven by rapid urban and industrial expansion, Indonesia faces rising waste volumes and persistently high carbon emissions—factors that directly impact the economy, society, and overall quality of life. These challenges highlight the urgent need for systemic collaboration to accelerate the country’s transition toward a low-carbon future. This context sets the stage for the ESG Symposium 2025 Indonesia under the theme “Decarbonizing for Our Sustainable Tomorrow,” which convened experts across sectors to share insights on decarbonization pathways and circular resource management. The program featured keynote perspectives in the session “Decarbonization Journey in Industrial Sectors” and a panel discussion on “Advancing Indonesia’s Future Through the Circular Economy.”
Thammasak Sethaudom, President & CEO of SCG, stated: “Indonesia’s toward Net Zero 2060 target requires collaboration, innovation, and participation from all sectors. Guided by the principle of Inclusive Green Growth, SCG is committed to working alongside the government, industry, and communities to support a tangible and sustainable transition.”
Muhammad Taufiq, S.T., M.T., Secretary of the Agency for Standardization and Industrial Services Policy (BSKJI), affirmed, “The Government of Indonesia has reiterated its commitment to achieving Net Zero Emission by the middle of this century, as well as increasing the ambition of emission reduction contributions in the form of emission documents. However, commitments on paper will mean nothing without real transformation in the environmental sector, especially in the industrial sector.”
In addition, the event featured join signing of the “Circular Future Collaboration and Commitment” under the Public–Private–People Partnerships (PPPP) model. The agreement brings together PT Semen Jawa, the Sukabumi Regency local government, the SCG Warrior Mentari community group, and leading Indonesian companies including PT Pratama Abadi Industri, PT Glostar Indonesia, PT Pou Yuen Indonesia, PT Feng Tay Indonesia Enterprises, PT Panasonic Gobel Life Solution Manufacturing Indonesia, and PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Mayora). The collaboration focuses on developing waste sorting and management systems, strengthening circular economy practices in industrial and community areas, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It stands as a tangible example of multi-sector partnership with potential for broader replication nationwide.
Warit Jintanawan, Country Director of SCG Indonesia, emphasized the determination that, “Collaboration is the key to accelerating sustainability. The Public–Private–People Partnerships (PPPP) model enables us to bring together public policy, industrial expertise, and community participation to create tangible outcomes, particularly in decarbonization and waste management.”
SCG is committed to the principle of Inclusive Green Growth, aligning business growth with social and environmental responsibility. The ESG Symposium 2025 Indonesia is the important step in demonstrating cross-sector collaboration in driving the country’s ESG agenda, supporting the national vision of Golden Indonesia 2045 and the Net Zero 2060 target.
