Mitihoon – Songkhla, January 8, 2026 – PTTEP donated a total of 100 million baht to support relief efforts for those affected by flooding in Songkhla Province during the crisis, as well as to support the construction of a new hospital building and the rehabilitation of schools. This support will enable healthcare and educational institutions to resume services efficiently and with long-term resilience.
Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), stated that the severe flooding in southern Thailand has caused widespread impacts on people’s livelihoods as well as critical community infrastructure. PTTEP recognizes the hardships faced by affected communities and has continued to provide assistance. We have allocated a total of 100 million baht to urgently support flood relief efforts, as well as to provide continued assistance for the long-term recovery of impacted areas. The support focuses on the construction of a new building for Hat Yai Hospital to strengthen preparedness and capacity to cope with potential natural disasters, as well as the rehabilitation of schools, which are essential to improving people’s quality of life. These efforts aim to enable healthcare and educational services to resume operations safely, effectively, and with long-term resilience.
The donation ceremony was held at the Songkhla Provincial Hall, where Mr. Montri Rawanchaikul, together with PTTEP senior executives, presented 70 million baht to Hat Yai Hospital for the construction of a new building to replace the original structure that was severely damaged. The new building is designed to support and enhance long-term preparedness for flooding. In addition, PTTEP provided a total of 20 million baht to four schools affected by the flooding: Hat Yai Wittayalai School, Hat Yai Wittayalai Sombunkulkanya School, Wat Khok Samankhun School, and Ban Na Khuan Lang (Ratsamakkhi) School. The funding will be used to repair school buildings, desks and chairs, learning materials and equipment, gymnasiums, first-aid rooms, restrooms, and other essential assets, allowing schools to once again serve as save and learning spaces for students. PTTEP also donated 5 million baht to support the “Repair, Build, and Restore Well-being” project at the Songkhla Institute for Skill Development 12, aimed at establishing an engine repair service center to assist flood-affected residents. The donation ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Rattasart Chidchu, Governor of Songkhla Province, and Mr. Sakhom Kerdko, Deputy Governor of Songkhla Province, who jointly received the financial support on this occasion.
During the flooding, PTTEP also provided immediate assistance worth approximately 5 million baht through coordination with partners, including the Royal Thai Navy, the Disaster Relief Center, the 42nd Army Circle, Prince of Songkla University and Hat Yai City Municipality. Support included the donation of 200 medical oxygen tanks (0.5 cubic meters each) to Songklanagarind Hospital and Hat Yai Hospital, 30 high-pressure water jets to the Royal Thai Navy, and essential relief supplies such as food, drinking water, bedding, and clothing to evacuation centers at Prince of Songkla University. Additionally, PTTEP collaborated with its subsidiary, AI and Robotics Ventures Co., Ltd. (ARV), to deploy delivery and surveillance drones, along with specialist teams, to support operations in hard-to-access areas.
As Thailand’s national exploration and production company, PTTEP extends its support and encouragement to the Songkhla community and all those affected by the flooding.
