Maxim Reveals User Insights: Working Professionals Play a Leading Role in the Ride-Hailing Market

Mitihoon — Maxim Thailand, a leading ride-hailing platform, has released new insights into nationwide user behavior, revealing that young users and working professionals continue to be the platform’s core user groups. The findings highlight Maxim’s important role in driving Thailand’s ride-hailing market while advancing innovation and services tailored to diverse travel lifestyles across all age groups.

An analysis of Maxim app user data shows that the average user age is 31 years. Working professionals aged 26–40 represent the largest user segment at 43%, followed by young users aged 11–25 at 33%, and older adults aged 41–60 at 24%. These figures indicate that app-based ride-hailing services in Thailand continue to be driven primarily by working-age users and the younger generation.

In terms of usage behavior,  young users tend to show the highest activity after school hours and during the afternoon, while working professionals and older adults are most active during after-work hours and daily commuting periods. When examining the total number of ride requests, young users remain the most active group, followed by Working professionals and older adults. This trend reflects the younger generation’s familiarity with and trust in digital technology, as well as ride-hailing services accessed through mobile applications.

Insights from areas where Maxim operates also reveal distinct regional usage patterns. In Hat Yai, young users account for as much as 39% of total users, highlighting the role of students and young people who integrate the app into their daily routines. In Chiang Mai, working professionals make up the largest share at 49%, aligning with the city’s mix of salaried workers and self-employed individuals who prioritize convenience in daily travel. Meanwhile, Khon Kaen records the highest proportion of older adult users at 31%, indicating growing acceptance of digital technology and the use of ride-hailing apps to enhance everyday convenience among this age group.
