Mitihoon – Bangkok, March 16, 2026 – Makro and Lotus’s, under CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, continue their commitment to supporting Thai farmers while expanding market access for high-quality agricultural products to consumers nationwide. Recently, the company partnered with the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) to visit Suphan Buri Province to observe the production process of “Suphan Buri water chestnut” a product registered with Geographical Indication (GI) status, reflecting the unique identity and quality of Thailand’s local agricultural produce.
During the visit, the team observed production and processing activities for various Suphan Buri water chestnut products, including water chestnut French fries, herbal-dyed boiled water chestnuts, dried candied water chestnuts, and water chestnut flour for cooking. Discussions were also held with local entrepreneurs on product development and expanding distribution channels through Makro and Lotus’s stores nationwide, helping increase market opportunities and generate sustainable income for farmers.
CP AXTRA has consistently supported Thai farmers by sourcing agricultural produce for distribution through Makro and Lotus’s. Throughout 2025, the company contributed more than THB 30 billion in income to farmers and SME entrepreneurs across the country through its procurement and distribution network.
To further enhance agricultural product standards in terms of quality and food safety, CP AXTRA has implemented the i-Trace (Traceability System), enabling full traceability across the supply chain. Consumers can access key product information including origin, variety, production standards, cultivation location, and nutritional information simply by scanning the QR code on the product. This system helps build consumer confidence while promoting the development of a safe and sustainable food ecosystem throughout the value chain.
