KResearch Forecasts Global Oil Prices May Stay Above USD 100 per Barrel Over the Next 1–3 Months, Potentially Affecting Thailand’s GDP by 0.2–0.7%

Mitihoon – Mr. Burin Adulwattana (2nd from right) KResearch Managing Director and Chief Economist together with Ms. Nattaporn Triratanasirikul (2nd from left) KResearch Deputy Managing Director, Ms. Kevalin Wangpichayasuk (left) KResearch Deputy Managing Director and Dr. Rujipun Assarut (right) KResearch  Assistant Managing Director announced the perspectives on the direction of the global and Thai economies amid tensions in the Middle East, which may push global oil prices to remain above USD 100 per barrel over the next 1-3 months, exerting pressure on inflation and Thailand’s economy. KResearch forecasts that Thailand’s GDP will be affected by 0.2–0.7 percent and assesses the impacts on the country’s automobile export sector, the electronics industry, the tourism sector, as well as SMEs that rely heavily on energy, transportation, fertilizers, and plastics.
