Mitihoon – Bangkok — In 2026, Thailand lifted price controls on fuel. Gasoline prices rose by 40% and diesel by 50% within a short period. For drivers and riders whose income depends on every kilometer, this was a direct blow to their wallets.
Maxim Thailand responded quickly to the situation. The platform introduced a range of measures: commission-free packages for orders, daily bonuses for drivers with RY.17 and RY.18 licenses, financial support during Songkran, cashback for internal combustion engine (ICE) drivers, and commission-free shifts for electric vehicle (EV) drivers. The result is that the number of completed orders continues to grow despite the fuel crisis.
Commission-free packages for short trips have already helped more than three thousand drivers. Daily bonuses allow drivers to earn an additional 20% per order cycle. During Songkran, the company provided one-time financial support to active drivers to compensate for rising costs during peak demand.
Another key component of the strategy is the accelerated transition to electric vehicles. Since late March, commission-free shifts have been available in seven provinces: EV drivers keep 100% of the fare. In the first week, the number of orders for EV drivers increased by 9.8%, while total platform orders continued to grow amid the crisis.
The share of electric vehicles on the platform has reached 14.6%. The strongest growth was recorded in Chiang Mai +11.2%? Bangkok +8.3%, and Hat Yai +7.7%. The company also partners with charging stations, making it easier for partner drivers to charge their EVs thanks to discounts.
Another mechanism is passenger support. The company maintains a balance between ride affordability and driver earnings up to the moment it has inner reserves. That’s why passengers receive the same price in a situation of rising operating costs. However if the situation becomes critical, Maxim will search for an alternative variant of programs that afford people to use e-hailing services and drivers work, even if it leads to some increase in price. Anyway, Maxim always takes care of both sides to increase mobility in the cities and provide new opportunities to earn money.

Our strategy is already delivering results, especially in Chiang Mai, where both order volumes and driver earnings stability are growing.”
The company will continue to monitor market trends and maintain a balance between ride affordability and partner earnings.
