Mitihoon – Mr. Thammasak Sethaudom, President and CEO of SCG, was granted an audience with H.E. Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, during his official visit to Thailand. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on economic cooperation and investment between Thailand and Viet Nam.
During the meeting, H.E. Mr. To Lam commended SCG’s contributions through more than three decades of business operations and investment in Viet Nam, particularly its role in supporting the development of foundational industries, strengthening supply chains, and advancing the country’s transition toward a green economy. He also expressed confidence in SCG’s role as a strategic industrial partner that contributes significantly to Viet Nam’s long-term economic development.
Mr. Thammasak Sethaudom, President and CEO of SCG, said, “Viet Nam is one of SCG’s most important strategic markets. We remain committed to investing and growing alongside the country through our businesses in petrochemicals, building materials, packaging, and sustainability solutions. We also support the development of high value-added industries, resource efficiency through circular economy principles, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions across the industrial sector.”
Both parties also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in green industries, high value-added products and solutions, logistics, circular economy initiatives, and supply chain development—key drivers for enhancing regional competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.
The meeting reflected the strong and longstanding relationship between Thailand and Viet Nam, which has been elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It also reaffirmed SCG’s role as a long-term partner in supporting Viet Nam’s economic and industrial development, while contributing to the country’s transition toward a greener and more sustainable future.
