Mitihoon – GPSC has maintained the corporate credit rating at “AA+” with a “Stable” outlook from TRIS Rating, representing the highest level among Thailand’s private power producers. The rating reflects GPSC’s financial strength and disciplined investment portfolio management amid volatile energy situations.
Ms. Panporn Sasananan, Chief Financial Officer of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC), revealed that GPSC has continuously maintained “AA+” credit rating with a “Stable” outlook from TRIS Rating Co., Ltd., as the highest level among Thailand’s private power producers. This reflects the credit rating agency’s confidence in GPSC’s business capability and ability to drive revenue through investment opportunities including natural gas-fired power plants, renewable energy and data center-related businesses. These opportunities are aligned with Thailand’s new Power Development Plan (PDP) that places importance to strengthen power system security, increase clean energy and support long-term growth electricity demand.
“According to maintaining AA+ credit rating with a Stable outlook reflects GPSC’s strategy and ability to manage investment portfolio management, secured liquidity and funding to support both opportunities and investments, as well as expenditure and financing cost management. These efforts secured our financial and investment discipline amid changes in the global energy industry. We focus on investing in clean energy to strengthen long-term financial stability,” said Ms. Panporn.
TRIS Rating assessed that GPSC has a stable revenue base and strong cash flow from portfolio of high-quality power generation assets both in Thailand and overseas. The company benefits from long-term power purchase agreements with customers in both the public and industrial sectors, as well as the ability to manage business portfolio effectively amid the volatile energy environment.
