Mitihoon – Ms. Sirobon Boonthavorn, Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Investment, and Ms. Parinda Ma-imjai, Executive Vice President, Corporate Services, of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC), the innovative power flagship of the PTT Group, jointly handed over a solar power generation system with a battery energy storage system (BESS) under the “Light for a Better Life” initiative to the Thai Temple in Bodh Gaya, Bihar State, Republic of India.
The project aims to support the adoption of clean energy and reduce energy expenses for the temple, in line with the vision of Venerable Phra Phromvajirabodhivong, Chief Abbot of Wat Thai Buddhagaya and Head of the Thai Buddhist Mission in India and Nepal. The project was received by Venerable Nipon Phra Bodhivides Vajravisuddhi, Head of the Thai Dhammaduta Office in India–Nepal and Abbot of Wat Lattivan Suan Tan Noom. The handover ceremony was witnessed by Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, and Ms. Benjapa Thabthong, Deputy Consul-General.
The project reflects GPSC’s continued commitment to promoting clean energy adoption in the countries where the company invests and operates. GPSC has expanded its renewable energy business through its investment in Avaada Energy Private Limited (AEPL), one of India’s leading renewable energy developers. This initiative will enhance energy management efficiency, reduce electricity expenses, and strengthen energy security for local communities, public institutions, and beneficiaries in the area, in line with the company’s sustainable business strategy.
To date, GPSC’s “Light for a Better Life” initiative has installed solar power generation systems and battery energy storage systems in remote communities and public-benefit facilities across Thailand, with a combined installed capacity of more than 850 KW, benefiting over 60 organizations and institutions nationwide. The company will continue expanding the deployment of clean energy technologies both in Thailand and internationally to improve quality of life and support the achievement of Net Zero goals.
