Mitihoon – Krungsri turns Transition Plans into action through Krungsri ESG Minute of Changes, uniting its business network for sustainable growth
Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya PCL) hosted Krungsri ESG Minute of Changes, highlighting the progress of businesses on their sustainability journeys through ESG learning, Transition Plan development and hands-on action. The event showcased the achievement of the Krungsri ESG Academy 2026 and Krungsri ESG Awards 2026 programs. It also connected experienced businesses that have taken part in the programs over the past three years, forming a business network for knowledge sharing, experience sharing, and continued collaboration on sustainability. The event was held at The Okura Prestige Bangkok.
Krungsri ESG Awards and Krungsri ESG Academy are part of Krungsri’s efforts to help drive Thai society toward sustainability. Held every year since 2023, the program helps businesses, particularly SMEs, build an in-depth understanding of sustainability and develop practical Transition Plans, with course content and expertise developed by a network of Krungsri’s partner organizations.
Mr. Kenichi Yamato, Krungsri President and Chief Executive Officer, said, “Advancing sustainability is not simply about setting ESG targets. It is about turning Transition Plans into action and delivering tangible results, which requires collaboration across sectors. As a financial partner, Krungsri aims to connect knowledge, financial solutions and collaborative networks to help customers and businesses move from commitment to action and advance toward sustainable growth in a tangible way. This reflects Krungsri’s commitment to being The Leading Sustainable and Regional Bank, while continuing to support financing for social and sustainable business initiatives, with a target of 350 billion baht by 2030. Through these efforts, we aim to support the business sector’s transition and foster sustainable growth over the long term.”
Ms. Duangkamol Limpuangthip, Krungsri Head of SME Banking Group, said, “There is no single approach to achieving sustainability that applies universally to every business. Each business must begin by identifying the sustainability issues that are most material to its operations and develop an appropriate plan aligned with its specific business context, particularly amid economic and trade volatility, evolving supply chain dynamics, and increasingly stringent environmental requirements. Against this backdrop, Krungsri has developed the Krungsri ESG Academy and Krungsri ESG Awards as platforms to equip businesses with knowledge and insights from experts, provide opportunities to develop and refine their sustainability plans, and facilitate connections with relevant partners to support the effective implementation of those plans.”
Throughout the Krungsri ESG Academy 2026, participating businesses gained insights into ESG concepts and tools from experts and partners, then applied this knowledge to assess their business challenges and develop Transition Plans aligned with their individual organizational contexts. The program was supported by key partners, including the Stock Exchange of Thailand, KPMG Thailand, the Board of Investment of Thailand, the Office of SMEs Promotion (OSMEP), Onnex by SCG, Schneider Electric, and Alto Tech, which contributed expertise, perspectives and practical tools to help businesses apply ESG principles to their operations.
After completing the learning and plan development process, five businesses were selected to present their Transition Plans at the Krungsri ESG Minute of Changes through a pitching session before a panel of distinguished ESG experts, who offered recommendations to help refine the plans before implementation. The panel included experts from the industrial, trade, public, social and academic sectors, among them representatives from the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand, Social Enterprise Thailand, the Department of Business Development, the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), the Office of SMEs Promotion, and Thammasat University. Together, they brought diverse perspectives spanning policy, business competitiveness, social and environmental impacts, and implementation feasibility.

Following a rigorous assessment process, Krungsri ESG Awards 2026 recognized businesses in two categories: Excellence Awards, for organizations demonstrating outstanding ESG practices across the environmental, social and governance dimensions; and Highly Commended Awards, for organizations that have initiated and implemented good practices across all three dimensions. Five organizations received the Excellence Awards, each demonstrating how ESG principles can be translated into practical approaches suited to their business contexts. Panapat Healthcare Co., Ltd. uses solar energy to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. S. Ruamthai Co., Ltd. repurposes byproducts from seafood production to reduce waste and create additional revenue opportunities. Thai Quality Starch Co., Ltd. strengthens upstream raw material security by developing disease-free cassava planting materials and a produce procurement system. The remaining two organizations apply circular economy principles to turn waste into value. Mailaivijit Co., Ltd. developed Refoam from foam scraps and sawdust, giving discarded materials a new use. Meanwhile, Suvapee Tumwattana Co., Ltd., known as Yingcharoen Market, is extending its waste management efforts beyond its own operations to the wider market ecosystem, including vendors and visitors, by converting orange peels, coffee grounds, used cooking oil and food waste into value while reducing waste across the market system.
The event also featured the presentation of certificates to Krungsri ESG Academy 2026 participants, followed by the Krungsri ESG Awards 2026 announcement and Krungsri ESG Community Networking, where businesses from different cohorts exchanged insights, built connections and explored opportunities for collaboration.
Mr. Kohei Omori, Krungsri Head of Japanese Corporate Banking, congratulated the award recipients and program graduates, saying, “The certificates and awards are not the destination, but the beginning of a longer journey. What matters is putting the knowledge gained and plans developed into action, while continuing to learn and grow through the Krungsri ESG Community, which provides opportunities for businesses to exchange experiences and explore further collaboration. Krungsri remains committed to supporting businesses through financial solutions and partner connections, helping turn their sustainability commitments into long-term business success.”
