CPAXT Partners with the Department of Internal Trade to Strengthen Thai Farmers and Drive Nationwide Distribution of 1 Million Kg of Mangosteens

Mitihoon – Bangkok, September 17, 2026 – CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, operator of the Makro and Lotus’s wholesale and retail businesses, continues to strengthen its support for Thai farmers in collaboration with the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, helping manage seasonal mangosteen supplies through nationwide purchasing and distribution. Offered in convenient “Mangosteen Baskets,” the initiative targets the distribution of more than 1 million kilograms of mangosteens throughout the season, expanding market opportunities, connecting quality produce directly from Thai farmers with consumers nationwide, and supporting sustainable income opportunities for farming communities.

As part of the initiative, Mr. Jirawuth Suwanna-arj and Mr. Chanthapat Panjamanond, Deputy Directors-General of the Department of Internal Trade (DIT), Ministry of Commerce, together with their delegation, and Mr. Viboon Supakarapongkul Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Agriculture and Food Coordination and Public Relations Center (AFC), visited the “Mangosteen Basket” sales points and viewed a selection of other Thai fruits, including longan, coconut, watermelon and pomelo. They were welcomed by Mrs.Ekthida Seriratwiphachai Director – Commercial, and Mrs.Chanida Phuensaen Senior Manager – Government Relations, Social Impacts & Stakeholder Engagement, CP AXTRA Public Company Limited, at Lotus’s Rama IV and Makro Sathorn.

The “Mangosteen Basket” features 3 kilograms of quality mangosteens for THB 99, giving consumers an easy and affordable way to enjoy seasonal Thai fruit while taking part in supporting local farmers. The baskets are now available at Makro and Lotus’s stores nationwide, bringing quality produce from farming communities closer to consumers across the country.

Throughout the year, CP AXTRA has continued to support Thai farmers by purchasing and connecting agricultural produce from key production areas across Thailand with nationwide consumer markets. From January to September 2026, the company purchased a total of 73,736,690 kilograms of agricultural products, covering fruits, vegetables and aquatic products from farmers, community enterprises and cooperatives across the country, for distribution through the Makro and Lotus’s network. These purchases generated more than THB 1.406 billion in income for Thai farmers.

The initiative further reinforces CP AXTRA’s role as a Platform of Opportunity, connecting Thai farmers and quality agricultural produce with consumers nationwide through the extensive Makro and Lotus’s network. By working closely with government agencies to expand market access and systematically support the management of seasonal agricultural produce, CP AXTRA aims to create greater commercial opportunities, strengthen income opportunities for farming communities, and enhance the long-term resilience of Thai farmers.
