Mitihoon – Bangkok, October 7, 2026 – A few minutes of checking could change a woman’s future. The Thanyarak Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, has joined forces with True Corporation, through TruePlookpanya, to raise greater awareness of breast cancer in recognition of World Breast Cancer Day on October 7. Under the campaign “Breasts Must Be Checked”, built around the message that the best protection begins with detecting abnormalities as early as possible, the initiative features Opal–Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World 2025, in a new awareness video encouraging women to regularly observe changes in their bodies, perform breast self-examinations, and undergo appropriate screening based on their age and risk profile. Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women both globally and in Thailand. The country records approximately 21,061 new cases, accounting for 23.5% of all new cancer cases among Thai women. Data from Siriraj Hospital also indicates that patients diagnosed at Stage 1 have a 10-year survival rate of up to 95%, underscoring a critical message: the earlier breast cancer is detected, the greater the opportunity for effective treatment and a better quality of life. Breast cancer can occur at any age, including among younger women, and can also affect men. Recognising unusual changes and seeking screening appropriate to one’s age and level of risk should therefore never be overlooked.
Mrs. Bussadee Chearavanont, Committee and Secretary of the Thanyarak Foundation, said, “For more than 30 years, the Thanyarak Foundation has remained committed to raising awareness and helping protect Thai women from breast cancer. We believe that knowledge alone is not enough. It must inspire consistent action, being attentive to changes in the body and seeking appropriate screening. The earlier an abnormality is identified, the greater the chance of successful treatment. Over the past five years, the Foundation has received strong support from True Corporation, through TruePlookpanya, in broadening public communication and extending breast health knowledge to wider audiences. The response has been highly encouraging, enabling this important message about early detection to travel from individuals to families and communities. This collaboration therefore goes beyond communication. It transforms knowledge into a force that can help reduce loss, create opportunities for a better quality of life, and allow women to continue sharing their love with the people who matter most.”
Opal–Suchata Chuangsri, Miss World 2025, who has played an active role in promoting breast cancer awareness, also lends her voice to the new “Breasts Must Be Checked” campaign video. The initiative aims to make breast health a more relatable and important part of everyday life, encouraging Thai women to become familiar with their bodies, practice regular Breast Self-Examination (BSE), and complement this with appropriate screening by doctors or qualified healthcare professionals so that potential abnormalities can be detected and treated in a timely manner.
At the same time, TruePlookpanya is harnessing True Corporation’s strengths in technology and learning to support the Thanyarak Foundation and a nationwide network of 38 Rajabhat Universities through the “Thanyarak Club”. The programme develops lecturers and students as community advocates equipped to share breast health knowledge and breast self-examination skills, extending awareness from universities to families and surrounding communities. True Corporation has also expanded access to digital learning through its EDU World platform, enabling people to conveniently access breast health information anytime, anywhere and turn knowledge into consistent self-care.
