Mitihoon – Bangkok – October 20, 2026 – Betagro Public Company Limited (SET: BTG), a leading integrated food company in Thailand, today announced that it has acquired a majority stake in Freshket, Thailand’s leading digital food supply platform for the hotel, restaurant and catering (HORECA) sector. The investment was made through Betagro Ventures. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition marks Betagro’s entry into the FoodTech sector and extends its integrated food ecosystem from production through to digital distribution. It strengthens the company’s foodservice business and accelerates the expansion of its digital distribution channels by pairing Betagro’s internationally certified food production and nationwide logistics network with Freshket’s proprietary platform.
Founded in 2017, Freshket connects farmers and producers directly with foodservice businesses through an end-to-end supply chain. The platform offers more than 10,000 products to over 20,000 operators with delivery accuracy above 98.5%. Its customers use it to streamline logistics, reduce food waste and gain greater transparency across their supply chains.
Freshket is also pursuing several key growth strategies: expanding its range of imported products, including seafood, premium Japanese ingredients, cheese and butter; extending its service area beyond Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin and Khon Kaen to the Greater Bangkok area and major regional cities; and upgrading its cold-chain logistics to maintain product quality throughout delivery.
What the Partnership Delivers
The partnership creates value across the food supply chain. HORECA operators gain faster access to a broader range of quality products on a single platform, from meat and fresh produce to dry goods and frozen products, with greater convenience and better cost efficiency. Freshket secures stronger upstream supply and the backing of Betagro’s logistics network and capital, while Betagro gains a direct digital route to foodservice customers, along with more efficient raw material management and product distribution. Together, the two companies are building a platform for sustainable growth across Thailand’s food industry.
“Freshket has built the leading digital channel to Thailand’s foodservice operators, and Betagro brings the production and logistics scale to stand behind it,” said Chayadhorn Taepaisitphongse, President of Animal Nutrition and New Ventures at Betagro. “This investment marks our entry into FoodTech and is a key step in building an integrated food ecosystem that serves customers from farm to kitchen. Together, we will give HORECA operators faster access to more quality products at better cost, and strengthen the competitiveness of Thailand’s food industry.”
“Secure, cost-efficient supply at the source is what every food distributor needs, and that is what Betagro gives us,” said Ponglada Paniangwet, CEO and Co-Founder of Freshket. “With Betagro’s logistics network and capital behind us, we can deliver high-quality, cost-effective ingredients to foodservice operators and drive sustainable growth for our business over the long term.”
The partnership underscores Betagro’s commitment to innovation-led, digitally driven growth. By making Thailand’s food supply chain more efficient and transparent, it will open up sustainable growth opportunities for farmers, producers, restaurant operators and the wider food ecosystem.
