Mitihoon – The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has collaborated with Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited to enhance cybercrime awareness among customers and the public. The initiative features an educational video series presented as a morality play, “CIB Police & Pa Tapian,” designed to equip audiences with practical skills to protect themselves from online threats. Through this collaboration, CIB and Thai Credit Bank aim to strengthen public resilience against misinformation and foster a safer digital society in Thailand.

At the present, online scams and fake news are spreading rapidly, with call center fraud schemes in particular causing widespread distress and financial losses to the public. Thai Credit Bank recognizes the critical importance of strengthening information resilience for both its customers and society at large. To address this challenge, the Bank has partnered with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to reinforce cyber protection and promote greater awareness of the deceptive tactics used by fraudsters to manipulate victims into carrying out financial transactions.

Pol.Col.Nati Wongkularb, Deputy Commander Technology Crime Suppression Division, and Head of Public Relations, Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) stated that  “This collaboration with Thai Credit Bank is another important part of strengthening our joint efforts with financial institutions through the production of video warnings related to financial risks, fraud, and other cyber threats. The CIB has been continuously raising public awareness and expects that this collaboration will help broaden our channels for public warning to be more comprehensive.”

Ms. Ratinan Wongwatcharanon, VP of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, Thai Credit Bank Public Company Limited, stated that “This collaboration serves as a vital mechanism to help the public ‘stay aware’ and ‘protect themselves’ effectively against cyber threats both in terms of safeguarding personal data and ensuring financial security. Together, the two organizations will continuously produce educational content in the form of morality play-style warning videos, ‘CIB Police & Pa Tapian’ which draw on real-life victim experiences to highlight common risks. These videos will be distributed across online platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube via the channels of both Thai Credit Bank and CIB, thereby expanding public awareness on a wider scale.”

In addition, Thai Credit Bank has broadened public awareness through the production of short video clips under the series “Roo Wai, Mai Don Luak” which compiles practical tips on how to handle common scams reminding audiences that such risks are closer to their daily lives than they may think.

Furthermore, both organizations plan to take a more proactive approach with on the ground initiatives through a “Mobile Fraud Prevention Clinic.” This program will provide training sessions for market vendors as well as community residents, utilizing Thai Credit Bank’s lending branches as key locations. The training will cover overlooked issues and risky behaviors in everyday life, particularly those communicated through social media, to help prevent people from falling victim to fraudsters.

Thai Credit Bank strongly believes that the collaboration between the Bank and the CIB marks an important opportunity to strengthen Thailand’s resilience against cyber threats in a tangible way, while enhancing safety and protection for grassroots communities. This initiative is fully aligned with Thai Credit Bank’s social mission and its commitment to growing as an organization that advances in tandem with society securely and sustainably.
