Mitihoon – HaadThip Public Company Limited announced that the flooding situation in Southern Thailand has not affected its manufacturing base, which is currently located in Phunphin District of Surat Thani. This will allow the company to resume normal operations quickly once the situation begins to ease. In addition, the company’s head office area in Hat Yai District of Songkhla, has also not been flooded. However, employees and retailers have been widely affected by the severe flooding. As a result, the company has set up a Crisis Response Team (CRT) at the Hat Yai office to manage the situation in line with its Business Continuity Plan, while providing support to employees and their families as well as affected communities, in accordance with the long-standing “HaadThip – Together for Good” vision.
Due to the heavy rainfall and widespread flooding in many southern provinces, especially in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, where the situation has reached a critical level with severe, widespread inundation, HaadThip Public Company Limited, as the manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola beverages in Southern Thailand, has clarified the impact as follows: at present, the situation has not affected the company’s manufacturing base, which has been consolidated at the Punpin Plant in Surat Thani since early this year. Therefore, the company is still able to manufacture beverages as usual. Although transportation routes have been partially impacted, the company will be able to return to normal operations quickly once the situation begins to improve. At the same time, the head office area in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, has also not been directly affected by the severe, widespread flooding. Nevertheless, to ensure a swift and effective response, the company has established a Crisis Response Team (CRT) at the Hat Yai office to implement its Business Continuity Plan and to provide assistance to employees, their families, and affected communities to the fullest extent of the company’s capabilities — a way of doing business that the company has always upheld.
Major General Patchara Rattakul, Chief Executive Officer, outlined the company’s approach to managing the current situation:
“I would like to assure everyone that the current situation has not directly affected our manufacturing lines or head office. This means we can still take care of ourselves and our fellow employees to a certain extent, and we will be able to resume normal operations quickly. But as HaadThip is truly a part of the fabric of the South, and our home is here in Hat Yai, this crisis is now our most urgent priority. I have ordered a suspension of commercial transportation on affected routes and redirected the mission of all our six-wheel trucks and high-lift vehicles to become relief carriers. They are now delivering ‘Namthip’ drinking water from our warehouses into areas that smaller vehicles cannot access, as well as to evacuation centers, as a matter of urgency. We are working closely with Hat Yai City Municipality and Prince of Songkla University to ensure that aid reaches the right places without duplication.”
In addition to using its distribution network to support disaster relief efforts, HaadThip has also coordinated with partners and customers to urgently procure essential goods for relief kits to be distributed to affected communities. Employees who are in a position to do so have volunteered to help assemble these relief kits and support coordination efforts to deliver assistance to communities from the Hat Yai office.
“We would like to extend our support and solidarity to the people of Hat Yai and all our Southern brothers and sisters who are suffering from this flooding crisis. We promise to take care of our communities as best we can, within our capabilities, so that we can overcome this crisis together,” Major General Patchara concluded.
