TRUE True Corporation First To Secure Global TM Forum Level 4.0 AI-Driven Autonomy Validations For Two Key Network Scenarios

Mitihoon – True Corporation has raised the bar for Thailand’s telecommunications industry after receiving two globally-recognized validations from TM Forum, the world’s leading global alliance of technology and telecommunications organizations. The company achieved Autonomous Network (AN) Level 4.0 validation for “Service Assurance for Individual Services” and “RAN Energy Efficiency Optimization”.

Level 4.0 is the highest level currently attained by operators worldwide, and True is the first and only operator in Thailand to register significant advances in these two high-value scenarios. This achievement reflects True’s commitment to developing an intelligent network that delivers an enhanced customer experience while supporting environmental sustainability.

Both of True Corporation’s projects were evaluated by TM Forum as complete case studies with operator-grade capabilities that service providers can actually implement, designed under policies that prioritize service quality and customer experience.

Autonomous Network Levels (AN Levels)

Autonomous Network Levels (AN Levels) are global standards defined by TM Forum to measure the automation capabilities of telecommunications networks, covering various use cases such as Radio Access Network (RAN) issue management and signal quality improvement. The system is divided into five levels, from Level 1, which requires manual human control, to Level 5, which is a fully autonomous network operating independently of human intervention. Level 4.0 requires advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) for management and is a strategic goal for leading telecommunications service providers worldwide.

Currently, most service providers have developed to an average of Level 3, and none have yet achieved Level 5. Assessment at every level must undergo independent verification and certification by TM Forum using the IG1252 standards and GB1059  assessment tools to confirm that service providers truly possess the capabilities required at each level.

First Global Validation – Service Assurance: Individual Services

True Corporation received the Autonomous Network Level 4.0 (AN Level 4.0) certification in the “Service Assurance for Individual Services” category as a Highly Autonomous Network. Developed by True Corporation in collaboration with Ericsson, this represents an AI-driven system capable of fully autonomous network management with maximum efficiency under current conditions.

The Intent-Based Operation (IBO) technology works like an “AI Operations Team” managing network quality 24 hours a day. It analyzes more than 80 KPIs to predict issues and optimize in advance before they impact network usage, enabling customers to use both 5G and 4G mobile services with continuous speed and quality, for example:

  • Predicts upcoming high-traffic areas and automatically boosts network capacity for everyone
  • Detects interference and automatically adjusts antenna transmission–reception angles and manages transmit power immediately
  • Automatically evaluates every optimization, checking standard KPIs to maintain network stability

As a result, TrueMove H and dtac mobile users can enjoy smooth streaming, video calls, and gaming without interruption because the network resolves issues before customers notice-unlike the previous approach of waiting for users to report problems.

Second Global Validation – RAN Energy Efficiency Optimization

True Corporation also received the Autonomous Network Level 4.0 (AN Level 4.0) certification in the “RAN Energy Efficiency Optimization” category for an AI project that provides comprehensive base-station energy management. It intelligently manages energy by reducing consumption when there is no usage and automatically reactivating base stations immediately when demand appears. The system maintains signal quality at maximum efficiency while AI automatically increases or reduces power in line with user volume.

Key capabilities include:

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collects data from all base-station equipment (multi-vendor data collection)
  • Usage Prediction: Predicts traffic volumes in advance (traffic prediction)
  • Automated Commands: Uses AI for automated decision-making and command execution (automated decisioning)
  • Automatic System Activation: Instantly activates systems when user numbers increase (emergency wake-up)

Results from Nationwide Live Operations

  • Reduces energy consumption by 10-12% in nationwide live operations
  • Reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year
  • Saves energy equivalent to planting 4.2 million trees a year

The TM Forum report states that True Corporation’s projects are fully evidenced with operator-grade capabilities, actually deployable, able to serve as benchmarks, and designed under policies that prioritize service quality and customer experience. They have therefore been designated as reference-quality examples for telecommunications service providers worldwide.
