Mitihoon – Thai Union Group PCL has received an A- rating in CDP’s 2025 climate disclosure, placing the company within the “Leadership” category representing best practice performance through ambitious strategies, verified progress and sector leading action. CDP, which campaigns for greater disclosure and environmental action, assesses more than 22,000 companies globally based on information reported through its climate, water and deforestation questionnaires.
The rating, which improved from a B rating last year, reflects Thai Union’s efforts to decarbonize operations, build responsible seafood supply chains, and protect ocean ecosystems under its SeaChange® 2030 sustainability strategy. SeaChange® 2030 is supported by dedicated investment, commitments to net zero and zero deforestation, and goals for zero water discharge, zero waste to landfill and zero food loss at key facilities, creating long-term value for people, planet and pets.
“CDP is an important benchmark not only for disclosure, but for how effectively companies translate commitments into climate action,” said Adam Brennan, Chief Sustainability Officer at Thai Union. “Our SeaChange® 2030 strategy is delivering progress that can be traced through our operations, financing systems, and supply-chain partnerships, from lower-carbon seafood production to greater transparency in how seafood reaches consumers.”
Thai Union continued to make progress on its climate and ecosystem commitments this year, including ongoing reductions in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and continued work to address Scope 3 impacts through initiatives such as the Lower Carbon Shrimp program. The company advanced circularity and ecosystem protection goals, with more sites working toward zero waste to landfill and key facilities progressing toward zero water discharge and zero food loss and continued to work towards eliminating deforestation across its supply chain.
As climate change and biodiversity loss intensify pressure on global seafood systems, Thai Union emphasized the need for measurable, industry-wide action.
“This CDP score reflects the progress we are making today, and SeaChange® 2030 sets the pathway for tomorrow,” Brennan said. “Our responsibility is to lead change that strengthens ocean health, drives lower-carbon seafood production, and lifts standards across the entire industry.”
