Mitihoon – Dr. Harald Link, Chairman of B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited (BGRIM), and Ms. Chadatip Chutrakul, Chief Executive Officer of Siam Piwat Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to accelerate the transition to clean energy. This strategic partnership centers on two key projects: the study and development of clean energy trading projects via Third-Party Access (TPA) and the commercial operation date (COD) of an 800-kilowatt (kW) solar rooftop installation at Siam Paragon.
Dr. Harald Link stated that the collaboration between B.Grimm Power and Siam Piwat seeks to explore and establish a power trading framework utilizing TPA, with a target of a cumulative contracted capacity of up to 300 megawatts (MW). This initiative is a response to surging demand for clean energy and heightened competitiveness in the power market. Under this framework, B.Grimm Power will supply electricity and present power sourcing opportunities as well as suitable energy solutions to Siam Piwat via TPA mechanisms, paving the way for future power purchase agreements. In addition, both companies are joining forces on social engagement and sustainability initiatives to create sustainable positive impacts for local communities and the environment.
Ms. Chadatip Chutrakul, CEO of Siam Piwat Group, remarked, “This partnership marks another significant milestone in deepening the strategic collaboration between our two companies to advance renewable energy initiatives through Third-Party Access (TPA) across Siam Piwat Group’s shopping centers in support of our commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across Scopes 1 and 2 by 2050. This builds upon the successful installation of a solar rooftop at Siam Paragon last year under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd., covering an area of over 4,600 square meters. That initiative has expanded our share of clean energy consumption and reflects our role as a world-class destination developer dedicated to integrating sustainability across all business operations to drive balanced growth and shared value for people, communities, the environment, and the economy.”
The event also marked the official commercial operation date (COD) of the solar rooftop project, featuring an installed capacity of approximately 800 kW, which commenced operations on schedule on September 30, 2026. Developed through a partnership between B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd. (BGPSS), a subsidiary of B.Grimm Power PCL, and Siam Paragon Development Co., Ltd., the system supplies electricity to Royal Paragon Hall, a world-class convention and exhibition facility; Paragon Cineplex; and NEXTOPIA, an urban prototype of the future and sustainability platform in the heart of Bangkok at Siam Paragon.
Mr. Nopadej Karnasuta, President – Thailand, Malaysia, and Energy & Industrial Solutions Business, B.Grimm Power PCL, stated that the successful advancement to COD of this project reinforces the alliance between B.Grimm Power and Siam Piwat Group, a premier developer and operator of world-renowned retail and real estate landmarks in Bangkok, including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, and ICONSIAM. The two groups initially entered into an MOU in late 2025 to pursue multi-dimensional strategic cooperation, including the transition to renewable energy through solar rooftop installations at Siam Paragon and the adoption of digital technologies to boost energy efficiency.
Developed under the power purchase agreement (PPA) between Siam Paragon and B.Grimm Power Smart Solution Co., Ltd., the 4,600-square-meter solar rooftop installation is projected to deliver up to 532 tons of avoided emissions per year.
With the COD of Siam Paragon’s solar rooftop, B.Grimm Power is expanding its clean energy portfolio and proportion of renewables, in line with its “GreenLeap – Global and Green” strategy, which seeks to address rapid shifts in the global energy market and client needs by providing reliable and accessible energy that contributes to the sustainability of the industry, ultimately advancing B.Grimm Power’s goal of becoming a leading global power producer.
Mr. Nopadej added that B.Grimm Power remains committed to expanding its renewable energy investments both in Thailand and abroad, guided by its vision of “Empowering the World Compassionately.” The company seeks to increase the share of renewable energy in its portfolio to over 50% to shield against natural gas price fluctuations in the long term and cultivate partnerships that create new business opportunities in pursuit of its targets of achieving 10,000 MW in total capacity by 2030 and attaining net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
