Mitihoon – Mr. Ittipol Lertsakthanakul, Senior Executive Vice President of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Thailand), served as a guest speaker on the topic “The Execution Blueprint: Unlocking Regulations, Opening Free Markets, and Transforming Thailand’s Energy Future” at ASIA Sustainable Energy Week 2026, organized by the Renewable Energy Industry Club under the Federation of Thai Industries, the Energy Committee of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Thai Renewable Energy (RE100) Association and the Clean Energy for Peoples Foundation at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on July 2, 2026. During the session, he highlighted EXIM Thailand’s role in supporting Thai entrepreneurs in energy transition, improving energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, and driving toward sustainable growth. These efforts are aligned with the government’s policy to promote clean and renewable energy in order to reduce environmental impacts and strengthen the country’s competitiveness, while contributing to Thailand’s goal of achieving Net Zero Emissions by 2050.
At the event, EXIM Thailand introduced financing solutions for businesses of all sizes to promote the adoption of renewable energy in their operations, offering an interest rate starting from only 2.75% per annum for the first two years. SME entrepreneurs can obtain financing of up to 100 million baht with repayment terms of up to 10 years. The Bank featured two flagship loan products: EXIM Solar D-Carbon Financing, which supports investments in solar power generation systems, covering roof and building reinforcement for solar panel installation, system maintenance costs, and investments in Energy Storage Systems (ESS) to store surplus energy for use during periods without sunlight or when electricity demand is high, thereby facilitating an efficient transition to renewable energy; and Green X Transformation Loan, which supports investments in business transformation through new technologies, such as the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) for business operations and investments in energy efficiency improvements. The financing enables businesses to operate in an environmentally responsible manner, reduce operational costs, and enhance their competitiveness in global markets.
In addition, EXIM Thailand offers working capital facilities at special interest rates for exporters and businesses across the export value chain that operate with environmental responsibility. Special Offer! Entrepreneurs who apply for the Bank’s energy transition and business sustainability loans or working capital facilities by July 2026 will receive an additional 0.25% per annum interest rate discount for up to one year.
Beyond financial support, EXIM Thailand further promotes the transition toward green businesses by assisting entrepreneurs who install solar power generation systems financed by the Bank in registering carbon credits under the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER) through EXIM Thailand’s Program-based T-VER framework. In addition, EXIM Thailand has joined forces with the Stock Exchange of Thailand to promote greenhouse gas emissions reduction through the SET Carbon platform, a digital tool for collecting and reporting organizational greenhouse gas emissions data under the EXIM Know Your Carbon initiative. Entrepreneurs who obtain financing from EXIM Thailand and prepare their organizational greenhouse gas emissions reports through the SET Carbon platform are eligible for an interest rate discount of up to 0.25% per annum throughout the loan tenor. The initiative aims to encourage businesses to strengthen environmental management while enhancing their competitiveness and achieving sustainable growth.
