Mitihoon – Amata Celebrates the Grand Opening of Homa Appliances (Thailand), Marking a THB3.1 Billion Investment in Smart Cooling Appliances
Homa Appliances (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the Thai subsidiary of Homa, has officially inaugurated its smart refrigerator production facility at Amata City Chonburi 2 Industrial Estate. With an expected annual production capacity of approximately 1.5 million units in Phase 1, the facility marks a significant milestone in Homa’s global expansion and Thailand’s growing role as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
The grand opening, held under the theme “Homa The No.1 Refrigerator Exporter, Miracles Begin Here, Setting New Benchmarks for Smart Refrigerators,” was attended by Mr. Vikrom Kromadit, Chief Executive Officer of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited; Mr. Cai Shier, Chairman of Homa Appliances; Mr. Yao Youjun, President of Homa Appliances; and senior executives from public- and private-sector organizations.
Mr. Vikrom praised the facility’s modern design, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and integrated production systems, noting that its inauguration reflects the confidence of global investors in Thailand’s industrial potential and strengthens Amata’s position as a destination for technology-driven investment.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Vikrom Kromadit said, “Chinese investors today are looking beyond a location for a factory. They are seeking a complete industrial ecosystem that connects suppliers, skilled talent, infrastructure, energy, logistics, and export markets. With more than 20 years of experience supporting Chinese investment, Amata has seen the evolution from conventional manufacturing toward technology-driven industries that create jobs, strengthen industrial capabilities, and support long-term growth in Thailand.”

He added, “Homa’s investment will strengthen Amata’s electrical and electronics cluster while creating opportunities for Thai manufacturers to participate in the supply chains of global companies. This will help raise production standards, expand value-added activities in Thailand, and deepen the country’s integration into global manufacturing networks.”
Homa’s Thailand base is an important milestone in the company’s global strategy. By establishing refrigerator and freezer production, parts manufacturing, and supporting operations in Thailand, Homa is extending its advanced manufacturing capabilities from its headquarters in Zhongshan, Guangdong, to an international production platform. The facility will manufacture premium refrigerators and smart cooling appliances for leading brands and retailers worldwide.
The Thailand manufacturing base represents an investment of approximately THB3.1 billion and covers nearly 200,000 square meters. The integrated site includes refrigerator and freezer factories, a parts manufacturing center, showrooms, and office facilities. The investment is expected to generate annual export value of approximately THB12 billion, create up to 3,000 jobs, and support local suppliers through a targeted 50–60 percent utilization of locally sourced parts.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Michael Yao, President of Homa, said, “The successful commissioning of our Thailand refrigerator factory marks an important step in Homa’s global development. Thailand provides a strong foundation for serving customers across ASEAN and international markets. We will continue to focus on high-end products, high-end manufacturing, and high-end services, supported by advanced technology and an efficient production system.”
Homa’s Thailand manufacturing base forms part of the company’s wider production network across China and Thailand. Together, these facilities support global annual production capacity of approximately 21 million units.
The Thailand base is expected to enhance Homa’s supply chain resilience, delivery capabilities, and market responsiveness across ASEAN.
As the park developer and operator, Amata is committed to providing customers with a ready-to-operate platform supported by integrated infrastructure, utilities, logistics, supplier connectivity, talent development, and efficient energy management. Through its “All Win” ecosystem, Amata aims to create shared value for investors, local businesses, employees, communities, and Thailand’s broader industrial economy, supporting sustainable growth and ensuring that every stakeholder can advance together.
